Abstract

The Intergenerational Network of Multiplier Agents for Safe Internet Use
(RIAMUSI for its acronym in Spanish) project by the Inter-American Children's
Institute focuses on creating safe virtual environments for children and adolescents in
the Americas. This ecological and intergenerational model aims to train multiplier
agents who promote safe Internet use within their communities. RIAMUSI relies on
interinstitutional collaboration, training students, families, and teachers, and
implementing practical tools such as protocols and manuals. The goal is to overcome bureaucratic obstacles and foster responsible and secure digital citizenship. This project
responds to the Convention on the Rights of the Child mandates, addresses challenges
like the digital divide and online violence in South America, and promotes a democratic
and participatory approach to protecting rights in the digital environment.
