Abstract

Generally every university aspires to excellence. However, not all of them understand the same thing about excellence and projection, the instruments to measure that are different. In this article we intend to investigate the nature of excellence in higher education, specifically in Chile. We have distinguished two ways of understanding excellence, in one hand which we have called "soulless" and by the other hand which we have called "with soul", whose conceptual difference lies in analogical distinction between qualitative and quantitative excellence.
