Abstract

El presente trabajo abordará la influencia de algunas mujeres en el proceso civilizatorio occidental que va desde el siglo XI al siglo XVI. En primer lugar, se analizarán aquellas circunstancias del siglo XI y XII que hicieron de la mujer una figura central para el refinamiento de las costumbres rústicas de caballeros y guerreros medievales. Seguidamente, se resaltará la influencia de los libros de caballería en las mentalidades de hombres y mujeres conquistadoras del siglo XVI. Finalmente se señalará la transmisión cultural encarnada por aquellas mujeres en el Nuevo Mundo. A lo largo del trabajo es posible advertir la importancia de la mujer como agente civilizatorio y los conflictos surgidos entre lo profano y lo sagrado, que se cristalizarán alrededor de la figura femenina como síntesis de fusión de horizontes culturales diferentes.

Nicolás Martínez Sáez, Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata

Profesor en filosofía por la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata (UNMDP) e Ingeniero en Informática por la Universidad FASTA de Mar del Plata. Se desempeña como adscripto graduado en la cátedra de Filosofía Medieval de la UNMDP e investiga problemáticas y filósofos dentro del período denominado Baja Edad Media.
