La arquitectura de los castillos ingleses y el debate historiográfico. Unas precisiones teóricas.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo realizar una primera aproximación a la historiografía sobre un campo tipológico arquitectónico que está mayormente ausente de los principales libros de historia de la arquitectura al alcance de los estudiantes en Latinoamérica: los castillos medievales. Para este efecto se centra particularmente en el debate existente en el tratamiento que esta tipología recibe en los estudios que los historiadores han realizado en Inglaterra, donde sí han tenido un gran desarrollo incluso como una disciplina especializada. El trabajo nos lleva a la conclusión de que tal debate amerita precisiones teóricas y metodológicas, y nos señala un campo de estudio que promete mayores e interesantes desarrollos.
