Los personajes principales en De Nvptiis Philologiae Et Mercvrii De Marciano Capela: Una propuesta de análisis

De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii (s. V d. C.) es una obra tardoantigua cuya adscripción genérica es aún hoy tema de controversia. Parte de la crítica coincide en considerarla una sátira menipea (Relihan 1993; Shanzer 1986), mientras que en otros casos se considera que la sátira menipea funciona como modelo, pero únicamente como recurso didáctico- retórico, con menos consecuencias para su interpretación (Petrovicova 2010). Coincidimos con la primera propuesta, encuadrando la obra de Marciano dentro del género de la sátira menipea y el tipo de la anatomía (Frye 1957; Bajtín 1984). El presente trabajo se propone un estudio de los personajes principales en De nuptiis –Mercurio y Filología, los protagonistas; Sátira y Marciano, los personajes narradores— para trazar un panorama que ayude a la comprensión de la organización general de la obra, y demuestre el alcance de la parodia, característica de la menipea, como recurso en la construcción de los personajes. De esta manera, se busca verificar que la adscripción de De nuptiis al género de la menipea no es solo formal, sino que abarca la construcción narrativa de la obra y juega un papel esencial en su interpretación.References
