Abstract

Within the framework of phenomenological psychopathology, delusional humor has been described as a fundamental stage in the prodrome of schizophrenia. In the present work, we address the proposal of the philosopher Matthew Ratcliffe, according to which this phenomenon is better understood as an atmosphere, a type of existential feeling. In a second moment, it is proposed that in the delusional atmosphere, from a heideggerian approach, it is experienced as a radical not-being-at-home. Finally, a distinction is made between this experience the one lived by a person with a panic attack.
