Abstract

This scientific article addresses the evaluation and optimization of plant layout in the metalmechanical sector through the use of simulation. The study focuses on the implementation of
stratified sampling techniques to analyze the functional areas of metal-mechanical companies and
propose efficient and effective improvements in non-standardized environments. The simulation
software Simio is used to create plant layout models, and data is collected through observations
and production records. Statistical analyses are then conducted to evaluate the simulation results,
and specific recommendations are generated to improve plant layout. The results demonstrate the
feasibility and positive impact of simulation on the efficiency and productivity of metalmechanical companies.
